In the sequel to Kiss and Tell (1945), Shirley Temple, in her final film role, stars as Corliss Archer. Corliss is a teenage girl who tries to make her boyfriend Dexter (Darryl Hickman) jealous. She writes in her diary that she is seeing a dashing older playboy, Kenneth Marquis (David Niven), whose ex-wife Corliss’s father represented during their divorce. When Corliss pretends to have amnesia to avoid a punishment for staying out too late, her parents read her diary to her to help jog her memory and find out about her affair with Kenneth. To irritate Corliss’ father, Kenneth says it’s all true.
