We had our eye on Monument Valley for some sunset pictures from the beginning of this camping/ hiking tour. The distination for camping there was at Monument Valley KOA Journey. There were no parks to pitch tents, thus it was not allowed in the Valley. So Taylor reserved a spot at the only KOA campground in the area far in advance, because all reservations had to be in advance. It had great shower facilitiesand was set up for any vehicles and accomodating hookups and services. It was the best KOA ground/management I've seen. It was at Milepost, 2 US-163, Monument Valley, Utah, 84536.
It's where you are literally standing in all four states at the same time...Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. Just think...it only took me a few minutes to visit all four states. There were plenty of souvenirs and out door shops to shop at and eat and drink but it was more like that of mobile vendors in a shaded over head roof strip center so as to be exposed outside.
